Research Description: |
I am interested in aspects of the cell biology of symbiosis. I am currently using the emerging model system Aiptasia pallida to study the interaction between cnidarians (like the sea anemone Aiptasia, but also including corals) and their photosynthetic dinoflagellate symbionts of the genus Symbiodinium. I am currently on sabbatical in Mark Martindale's lab learning more about cnidarian development and molecular tools using the cnidarian Nematostella. |
