Research Description: I am interested in the evolutionary genetics of organisms with atypical reproductive and developmental strategies. Currently, my primary research is focused on the polychaete Pygospio elegans, displaying poecilogony, or polymorphism in developmental mode, both within and among populations. We use a variety of approaches to understand the impact of polymorphism in developmental mode on populations and how it may affect population divergence. We are interested in deciphering the genetic basis of poecilogony and use genomic, transcriptomic and developmental genetic tools.
