Research Description: |
In our research group we study the genetic control of sex determination in several fly and beetle species. By comparing their pathways we try to comprehend to what extent and how these pathways diversified in the course of evolution. In addition, understanding the molecular principles of sex determination will help us to design new genetic strategies to control pest insects. Keywords sex determination, Musca domestica, Tribolium castaneum, splicing regulation |
